MAGIIC SAS did not start from a marketing idea but from a field observation: more than 60% of French households receive hard water, and limescale quietly attacks pipes, water heaters, washing-machine elements and taps. The usual answers — salt softeners, chemical descalers, replacing equipment early — all come with a trade-off: a consumable to buy again, maintenance you must not forget, or a discharge into the environment.
The LIMPEO brand grew out of that constraint. The device fits around the existing pipe, with no water shut-off and no plumbing changes, and acts on calcium carbonate crystallisation by favouring aragonite, a form that scales less than calcite. This mechanism is described in published laboratory work, notably Coey & Cass (2000) and Kobe et al. (2001), which we cite together with their limits rather than stretching them.
Today, design, assembly and quality control take place in France, in Eure-et-Loir, and the brand is sold directly through limpeo.com in five languages. That short-circuit choice is not cosmetic: it determines who answers when a customer has a question about their installation, and who handles the warranty when a device has to be replaced.
