Install your LIMPEO in 20 minutes
A straight pipe, a cable to wind, a socket. No plumber, no special tools. Follow the six steps, the green light does the rest.

The six steps
1Choose the spot
Near the main water inlet, after the meter, find 15 cm of straight pipe with no fitting, valve, check valve or relief valve, and if possible no earthing. The pipe can be horizontal, vertical or diagonal, in copper, PVC, PEX, stainless steel or multilayer: the material makes no difference.
Keep the coil at least 15 cm away from large iron or steel objects and electric motors. Small pipes and the side of a washing machine are not a problem.
2Mount the unit
The unit mounts on any surface, at any angle, more than 15 cm from the coil and less than one metre away. The socket must be within two metres. Flip the mounting tabs out and use screws suited to the surface.
The unit is IP65: splashes are fine, permanent damp is not. Never open the unit: the screw caps protect the warranty.
3Prepare the cable
Strip one centimetre of the flexible cable and twist the copper strands between your fingers into a stiff tip. Press one of the two buttons on the unit, insert the stripped cable, release. Polarity does not matter.
4Wind the coil
Pass the cable around the pipe, pull it tight, fix it with a cable tie, then make 15 tight, touching turns on the straight pipe. Fix the end with a second cable tie.
Count your turns
Tap at every turn. The coil is about 6 cm long once the 15 turns are done.

Work out the length needed to get back to the unit and cut off the excess: the cable must never hang loose or be wound on itself. Strip, insert into the second button.
5Plug in
Check that the socket voltage matches the label on the unit and that the cord is intact. Plug it in: LIMPEO is designed to stay powered permanently. It draws under 5 W, about €10 of electricity a year.
A new socket must be fitted by an electrician. A bad connection can destroy the electronics.
The indicator light
- Steady on: powered, the unit is working. Nothing more to do.
- Blinking: the coil cable is probably not inserted properly. Unplug, reinsert both ends, plug back in.
- Off: no power. Check the socket, the breaker and the cord.
6The first weeks
The effect starts right away, but old scale takes time to come loose. Allow 4 to 8 weeks to see fewer marks on taps and surfaces. A light white film may appear: that is aragonite, an inert powder, which wipes off with a sponge.
After a month, descale the aerators and shower heads once: the softened scale comes off easily and will not build up again. Do not unplug the unit: the effect stops with it.
Safety
- Never handle the unit while it is plugged in: unplug before any intervention.
- Cracked housing or damaged cord: take the unit out of service and contact us. The cord may only be replaced by the manufacturer.
- Never open the unit: the four screw caps guarantee its integrity, any opening voids the warranty.
- Pacemaker or insulin pump wearers: make sure the device does not interfere, ask your doctor.
- Keep the unit out of children's reach. It is not meant to be installed unsupervised by someone without experience.
- Packaging and the unit at end of life are recycled: electrical equipment waste, not household waste.
Troubleshooting
- The light is off
- No power: check the socket with another appliance, the breaker and the state of the cord.
- The light blinks
- Coil cable badly inserted: unplug, press the button, remove the cable, strip it cleanly again over 1 cm, twist, push it fully in. Check both ends.
- White particles float in the water
- Normal in the first weeks: old scale coming off the pipes. It goes away by itself.
- Scale comes back after two months
- Check the coil: 15 tight, touching turns, on a straight pipe, away from motors, no loose excess cable. Check the unit stayed plugged in. If all is fine, write to us with a photo.
- Standing water still scales up
- In water that does not circulate, limescale slowly returns to its encrusting form. Renew standing water from time to time.
